Evening Hike at Motter Metro Park with Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District Naturalist Dan Hodges (Register by Aug. 3)

There will be an Evening Hike at Motter Metro Park on Thursday, August 4 @ 7:00 p.m., led by Naturalist Dan Hodges of Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District. 

Open to all ages. Dress for the weather.

Cardio Drumming @ BFR (Register by June 23 - space is limited!)

Cardio Drumming (R): Thursday, June 30 @ 6:00 p.m. - Register to join us at BFR for a session of cardio drumming!

Open to all ages (children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the duration of the program)

Bring your workout ball or a large play ball and let's have fun!

*Limited number of workout balls available - let us know whether you will need one when you register.

 

Watercolor Workshop: "Sailboat" (Registration opens June 17.)

Watercolor Workshop: Sailboat (R)($) will be held Thurs., July 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Local artist Jeanne Beutler will teach on the lower level of the library. Walk away with your own watercolor piece of art, complete with mat! There is a $10 supply fee at the door (cash only please), and advance registration is required as space is limited.

Open to adults and teens (with a participating adult).

Registration opens June 17.

Mobile Health Clinic - ONU Healthwise at the Library

Mobile Health Clinic: Fri., July 29 from 9:00-11:00 a.m - All services are provided by individuals with the Ohio Northern University Healthwise program. This clinic includes free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol (please fast for 12 hours to participate in cholesterol or blood sugar screening) and osteoporosis/ Participants may speak with ONU Healthwise students and staff about their results or concerns, and even receive referrals to area doctors.

Our Water Cycle, presented by Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District (R):

Come to the library on Mon., July 11 at 2:00 to learn about the water cycle and how the ocean is connected to our water right here in Allen County!

This family-friendly program will include engaging activities and stories about the water cycle including oceans, clouds, rain, rivers and more!



"The Bluffton We Never Knew" presented by Fred Steiner (Register in advance; space limited)

The Bluffton We Never Knew, presented by Fred Steiner takes you on a photographic journey to a Bluffton of 120-140 years ago and will be held on Tues., July 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the library Narrated by Fred Steiner, program participants will see dozens of Bluffton photographs by pioneer photographer Will Triplett taken over a period covering 1880-1910. Included are scenes of buildings that no longer exist, people at work as blacksmiths, barbers, hotel owners, oil drillers and teachers.

On Tuesday, June 28 @ 6:00 p.m., Helen Bibler of Pet Partners will explain the similarities and differences between therapy animals, service animals, and emotional support animals and what rights and responsibilities apply to each. Helen Bibler will be accompanied by Max, and by Julie Bassett and Sophie.

On the library’s lower level, the Friends organization will hold a sale of a variety of books and other items to benefit library services, materials, and programs. Your purchase at this sale goes to enriching Bluffton and the surrounding community. The sale begins on Thursday, June 2 and ends on Saturday, June 4th.
