Curbside Pickup

Curbside Pickup is available when the library is at Level 3 (red) or better. Patrons who utilize curbside pickup are to arrive during their scheduled time, and a member of staff will check out their items for them and place the items in a bag on the bench outside the front door.

Choose an option below:

SCHEDULE A PICKUP OF YOUR ON-HOLD ITEMS AVAILABLE NOW

Pickups must be scheduled in advance, and patrons must confirm (via phone) their library card number for verification when they arrive. A member of staff will bag your item(s), place them on the bench in front of the library, and then go back inside so you may have a contactless pickup of your library holds. (Or use the Click & Collect feature on the SEO Libraries app!)

Please notice: If scheduling online, a pickup is not scheduled until you receive a phone call or email back to confirm it.

REQUEST THAT A LIBRARIAN PICK ITEMS FROM BLUFFTON PUBLIC LIBRARY'S SHELVES FOR YOU (Generic Hold Request)

Don't know what you want to read? You can fill out the form at the link above to let us know what your preferences are, and a member of staff will choose items for you!

Find a printable version of this form here: GENERIC HOLD PRINTABLE FORM.

The library also has many online book "displays," or lists to help you choose books for which you may want to place holds. Find those lists here.

F.A.Q.

What are your hours for pickup?

Curbside is available Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. When scheduling an appointment, please choose a time within that range, and within 15 minute increments. Please notice: Your appointment is not scheduled until you receive confirmation through your specified preferred mode of contact.

Where is the library's designated pickup site?

All materials are to be picked up at the library's front entrance double glass doors. Please park and call us at 419-358-5016 when you arrive. A member of staff will request confirmation (via phone) of your library card number and will then place materials outside of the glass doors for pickup. Please remain in your vehicle until the staff member is back inside and the door is closed. Once the staff member is inside, you may pick up your bagged items. Items to be returned may be placed in the bookdrop. Please note: We are NOT placing items in vehicles.

Can I hand my items to return to a library staff member at the front door?

No, returns may be made in the library or using the library’s 24/7 Outdoor Bookdrop only. This includes items received through interlibrary loan by placing a hold through the library consortium to which we belong. No returns may be made through Curbside Pickup Appointments.

Do I need to call when I arrive? What if I don't have a cell phone?

Please call when you arrive so we can ensure that a staff member will be ready at the pickup location for you. If you are unable to call upon arrival, please call before leaving and provide an estimated time of arrival.

How do I place holds on items at your library and not the whole consortium?

On our online catalog, you can use the drop down menu to choose "Bluffton Public Library" instead of "All Libraries." Click on the title of the item to see if it's available at our library and not checked out or on hold for someone else. For more information, click here.
