Underwater Life in our Watershed, presented by The Quarry Farm (Register by July 8!)

Blue background with images of books and logo, and description

The Underwater Life in Our Watershed (R) - On Tuesday, July 12 @ 6:00 p.m.

Did you know that the insects, mollusks and crustaceans—aquatic macroinvertebrates—that live in our streams and rivers are like the canaries that miners used to keep down in the coal mines? Their presence (or absence) can help us determine the health of our waterways.

Meet some of these 'water canaries' when you join representatives from The Quarry Farm at the Bluffton Public Library.

The Roots of our Watershed, presented by The Quarry Farm (Register by June 10!)

Green background with Quarry Farm logo with birds and library logo and description of program.

The Roots of our Watershed (R) - On Tuesday, June 14 @ 6:00 p.m., join representatives from The Quarry Farm at the Bluffton Public Library as we focus on the native plants that hold soil in place to protect one of Earth’s greatest freshwater ocean systems, the Great Lakes, from sedimentation and harmful algal bloom.

*Bring a small pot along as there will be plant samples to take home and plant in your own precious soil.

This program is for Adults and Teens as well as children with a parent or guardian present.
