Adult Book Groups

Noon Book Group

The ongoing Noon Book Group typically meets the first Wednesday of each month at noon.  Anyone 18 years of age and up is welcome to join, and advance registration is requested. 

During selected sessions, authors may visit virtually with the group to talk about their book and answer questions.

A limited number of titles is made available for checkout at the circulation desk during the month prior to each discussion.

Not@Noon Book Group

For 2025, the library will host an evening book discussion in May, June, August and September. Title selection will be the same as that month's Noon Book Group title, and the discussion will be held at 6:00 p.m. on the Thursday after that month's Noon Book Group discussion.

When you check out the book, please let the library know which discussion time you plan to attend.

If there is enough interest, we will consider adding more evening book discussions at the library!

Other Adult Book Groups: These are non-monthly meeting groups that meet from time to time. Watch for them on our calendar, website, social media, or sign up for our digital newsletter to be among the first to know! 

  • Galley Book Group meets as galleys are available from publisher(s). Discussion varies from a typical book discussion of a single titles, or reading a mix of books and then giving brief reviews/ratings during the discussion time. (Galleys, also known as advance readers, are not-completely-finalized versions of upcoming book titles provided by publishers prior to publication. One use publishers have for these is to send them to readers for promotional purposes.)
  • Book to Movie Group. Read the book, watch the movie (either on DVD, at the library showing, or stream on your own, and then get together to discuss the two!)
  • Words & Wine: This is a book discussion led by the library and held at a local venue. Seats are limited due to space. Check out and read the book, then meet at the local venue to enjoy the beverages and cuisine, as well as the company and conversation about a great book!
  • No Obligation Book Group: Sometimes you just want to hear about what others have read, loved, and would recommend and then add to your TBR list! This is a group where, rather than discuss one specific book, everyone reads whatever they want, and then comes ready to share the titles they've loved. By the end of the time, hopefully a few great titles will be added to your list!
